santa lucia preserve

Elyse and Story fell in love with the landscape of the Santa Lucia Preserve, and wanted their wedding to be in harmony with it - yet Elyse still dreamed of a wedding that was delicate, romantic and traditional. She especially loved beautiful blooming branches that are only present for a short time in Spring. These branches helped bridge the gap between the wooded Preserve landscape and the flowery romantic wedding of her dreams.

The blooming arch and aisle decor at their Redwood Grove ceremony was the first step in the design process. But we really wanted to incorporate these branches in a new and completely unexpected way. So Mindy Rice constructed giant flowering arches in the center of the dinner tent for a stunning first impression as guests entered. As the sun went down, the arch was lit for a very ethereal dining experience.

Following dinner, guests moved into the Barn for dancing. To continue the feminine floral elements, we suspended intricate gilded chandeliers that were very reminiscent of the branches themselves. These created a magical glow over the dance floor. Their cake was a design collaboration between our in-house design team and Jasmine Rae Cakes - we very much wanted a blooming branch design that felt delicate and not heavy handed. Jasmine Rae captured the look to perfection.
