PESCADERO, CALIFORNIA

Photography LAURA GORDON

Surrounded by sweeping views of the Pacific, Briana and Trip were wed on their family’s private ranch that had been affected by the California wildfires. When we first visited the family property, trees had been burned and the grass had been wiped out, replacing much of the property with a dusty dune. We moved the location of the tent from one part of the hill to another part - closer to living trees that survived the fire which was an engineering feat. Hensley Events were incredible. Neutral florals and greenery were brought in for an organic design that was thoughtfully integrated into each part of this spectacular two-layered custom deck, which provided dramatic views from nearly every angle. The family didn’t want a sit down dinner, which lent well to the two level deck; it encouraged fluidity and fun.

This 400-guest celebration was inclusive of the symbolic roasting of a swine in recognition of the bride’s Mexican heritage, which we positioned right off the side of one of the decks for an immersive experience for guests. Mariachi band players kept the celebration going long past the sensational sunset that evening.
