Ram’s Gate Rehearsal Dinner: Stephanie and Phil

New York couple Stephanie and Phil hosted a small but special four-day wedding weekend in Napa  over the summer. Just 60 of their closest friends and family were treated to memorable wine country experience.

They chose one of my new favorite event spaces, Ram’s Gate Winery in Sonoma to host the festive rehearsal dinner. The chic design of the winery with just the right touch of rustic inspired our tableaux. Bright yellow flowers by Valley Flora popped against the muted grey linens, with fun chalkboard place cards and escort board by PS Paper.

Jose Villa Napa Valley Workshop

009750-R1-001This fall, I had the very special pleasure of working with photographer extraordinaire Jose Villa on his Napa Valley Photography workshop. I was so happy when he asked me to help design and plan the two-day session, in which 20 photographers would learn from and shoot with Jose in an experience of a lifetime. With talented event and floral designer Ariella Chezar on board as well, I knew we’d have the chance to create something absolutely stunning.

We chose Aetna Springs in the secluded hills of Pope Valley for its abundance of breathtaking scenery and golden light. The setting inspired the design direction, utilizing a soft romantic palette and natural touches like acorns and nuts. For two days, photographers captured artfully styled engagement couples, bride and groom, printed materials, wedding day details and  tablescapes.

After the final shots were taken of the vineyard event table we designed, the students, vendors and special guests all sat down together to a wine country dinner prepared by Elaine Bell Catering. A picture perfect moment to conclude two very special days.

Special thanks to the many talented individuals and purveyors that made it possible, credited below!

Beauty at Beaulieu Garden: Kimmie and Tyler

Kimmie and Tyler are one of the cutest couples I’ve had the pleasure of sending down the aisle. The bride is as sunny and bright as her big smile suggests, and the groom with his penchant for Sperry Top-siders is as handsome and endearing as they come.

The two tied the knot at Beaulieu Garden in Rutherford, a dream of Kimmie’s since she attended her brother’s wedding there years ago. Nearly 340 guests dined under Beaulieu’s twinkling arbor and danced under a beautiful draped tent to Durell Coleman Band. I love the gold chandeliers in the tent, but my favorite detail of the day just might be Kimmie’s exquisite veil. It looked stunning with her Monique Lhuillier lace gown.

Chic in Napa Valley: Stephanie and Tyler

Stephanie and Tyler’s wedding Napa Valley wedding was picture perfect. Inspired by the clean lines and black and white accents at their chosen venue Durham Ranch, we designed a black tie affair that felt fresh, effortless and unbelievably elegant.

The bride and groom know style (Tyler and his family own famed Wilkes Bashford in San Francisco) so it’s no surprise they chose jaw-dropping attire for the occasion. The bride’s Oscar de la Renta peplum gown and the groom’s Jim Shay bespoke navy tuxedo were so memorable and special.

One of the most fun touches of this wedding was the MVS Studio photo booth that produced stunning black and white photo of the guests. But we added a special twist…throughout the night,  these images were projected on a large screen backdrop behind the band. Such a unique way to make guests feel a true part of the event.
