Masterclass 2018

The beauty of the Santa Lucia Preserve has been a source of inspiration for many of my weddings over the years. In selecting the venue for my Wedding Planner Masterclass, I was thrilled to reimagine the space with some of my favorite industry partners.

Kathleen Deery Design and I have worked at the Preserve together many times, so for the Welcome Dinner in the Old Barn, we wanted to present a completely fresh concept. We started with a breezy British colonial inspiration, utilizing Urban Parlour's newest Harbor collection of furniture and lanterns. Rather than draping the barn in traditional fashion, we installed eave-to-floor panels with a subtle Indian motif.  The table top by Casa de Perrin was accented by monogramed napkins from Walker Valentine, who also provided beautiful linen tote bags for classroom gifts. We also surprised each attendee with an agenda and cozy Stick & Ball poncho in-room upon arrival.

Amber Moon Design and Emily Rose Ink created our printed pieces for the workshop and dinners. Erich McVey's company Make & Stow also created lovely custom invitation boxes for the styling workshop, in addition to a custom cake pedestal for the Jasmine Rae wedding cake.

For the wedding shoot and Farewell Dinner, we partnered with Madison Hartley of Hart Floral. We played on the early spring colors at the Preserve, utilizing chartreuse green, ivory, harvest and deep brown. The ceremony was set on a hexagon platform surrounded by an installation of blooming branches. We continued these branches to the Farewell Dinner, in column installations on the barn's support beams. Our cozy candlelit dinner, catered by Paula LeDuc Fine Catering, then gave way to a fantastic dance party with silent disco by Elan Artists.  It was a memorable night to cap off an incredible week.
